Nomadic Odero is an artistic vision of a Palm Springs, California based Polymath Fashion & Travel Lifestyle Photographer “OD” Odero...
In addition to his passion for photography and fashion, He is a cultured global traveler & a US Army veteran. His passion for photography emanated from curious childhood plays dismantling his grandfather’s vintage 1960s Rolleiflex TLR cameras. He never missed taking family photos, travels, church events, and parties throughout his life. He recalls opting for school research papers on 17th-century camera obscura.
As a self-taught photographer, he dedicated several years to studying the physics of light, shadows, and the elements of photography. After working with dozens of photographers as a fashion designer, He purchased his first professional camera Sony a7ii, with a vintage 50mm f1.4 Minolta glass. A disciple of vintage photography, he spent three years shooting strictly manual Minolta lenses leading to his first fashion Look-book in Indonesia’s Gili and Bali islands for the Bohemian fashion brand Island Tribe. In pursuit of vintage handling & color chemistry, he switched from Sony to shooting Fuji XT cropped sensor systems.
An ardent nature lover, he shoots primarily with ambient natural light. He abides by his philosophy that natural photography happens between the first three hours after sunrise and the last three hours before sunset.
OD creatively works and resides between Palm Springs, Los Angeles, and New York City. Lately, he can also be spotted advocating for mental health awareness, leading meditative breath-work wellness experiences at their Palm Springs Studio “Island Tribe Wellness” or in Bali, Indonesia; Tulum, Bacalar, Mexico; or trotting volcanoes in Mesoamerica Mayan cultural regions of Guatemala and beyond…
